Meridian Products Donates to Habitat for Humanity

BAH-HUMBUG! While this phrase is most famously used by Ebenezer Scrooge in Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, it seems to be a normal holiday sentiment for many over the past, few tough years – but, not at Meridian Products.

Our goal is to not only provide you with a beautifully renovated kitchen for your holiday preparations, but to ensure others have an opportunity to complete their home projects as well. I’m thinking I have you scratching your head right now, so let me explain.

From time-to-time, Meridian Products has doors that were not made to specifications; they may be the wrong size, not quite the exact color, or the right profile. While there are plenty of companies that would toss them in the trash pile and never look back, it’s important to Meridian Products to make a difference — one door, drawer front, mullion, slab, at a time…you get the picture. If it can be taken from our hands and put into the hands of those in need, there is no hesitation; we do it.

Meridian Products has been working with Habitat for Humanity for several years. Habitat is a global non-profit that works across all 50 states and in about 70 countries. Their goal is to provide housing that is affordable and livable. They work towards building strength, stability, and self- reliance. Habitat homeowners work alongside volunteers to help build their home and pay an affordable mortgage.

When Meridian has gathered a significant inventory for Habitat, we simply call them and they come pick it up. We may not know exactly whose homes these products end up in or even which community, but we know that they’re making a difference for many families. “One man’s mishap, is another man’s treasure” and Meridian is happy to serve the community knowing that our beautiful cabinetry is gracing the kitchens of families in need.
